Few
details are available on these rarely seen Spacefighters,
as they appeared and disappeared during the final battle against
the Skaarj that ended the Seven-Day Siege over a century ago.
Military intelligence suspects the Skaarj had stolen a new
source of energy to power these state of the art crafts (codenamed
"Black Scorpions"). Light weight and armored, the
"Black Scorpions" are armed with a dual plasma projectors
and homing missile mount. The adaptive wing flaps and engine
exhaust system provide the Black Scorpions with a great top
speed, aggressive acceleration and high movement range. Exact
replicas, as found during the Human/Skaarj war, are used in
the Tournament.

The Skaarj Spacefighter is the same as the Human Spacefighter,
so I’ve used the same description/control scheme.
You can only pilot the Skaarj Spacefighter in the AS-Mothership
Assault map, but it is quite a joy to fly.
It’s controlled via a person view, and just like other
space fighter games, you have access to several evasive moves,
including strafes and rolls.
The primary firing mode is a pair of lasers which hit their
target instantly. They are fairly damaging, and will probably
be the most used weapon.
The secondary firing mode launches a homing rocket. It’s
not good to use this as a normal weapon, because it takes
about five seconds for the rocket to recharge.
