    Hey all,

I want to hear your opinions on the new 3000 series GPUs from Nvidia.

Will you get one, or will you wait for a Super/Ti version later on? Are you waiting on AMD's announcement to see how it will perform?

Let me know what you think of the current situation as well in regard to the scalpers and bots. Did you try to get a card or maybe even got one?

In one of our store in Hungary, we got 11 ASUS TUF-RTX3080-10G-GAMING cards yesterday which were all sold out. I had more than enough chance to get one but there were 2 factors that held me back.

One of them is that the price for one unit was 394,990 HUF which is 1270 USD. That is insane.
Also I want to wait for at least a 20 gig version which was leaked not so long ago.

Thanks for reading and for your attention! 😸

    Take care,
    Ben

Personally I am waiting to see how the 3090 performs and maybe see a Ti version released. Im still running dual 2080 super's and almost pulled the trigger, but since I dont have major performance degradation I rather wait it out.

In my opinion, your dual 2080S setup will be more than enough until the next generation comes out.

However, I would wait to see the performance difference between the non Ti and the Ti 3000 series cards and see if it would be worth upgrading to them.

    Thanks for your insights.

You wont see a 3090 ti, you will see a 3080 ti though.

The 3090 is equivalent to the Titan RTX tier.

I'd like to have one given that the performance proves out but as you said, that price is totally insane. So I'll be sticking with my 2080 Super, it's been more than enough for my games. Maybe somebody will give me one for Christmas.

    Yeah, sure..... 😏

im currently using a 1080TI, so unless it dies on me, i will most likely skip another generation

The performance/cost of the 3xxx must have made a few 2xxx buyers cry tho 😂

Honestly I'm waiting more for games that are worth to own a high end graphic card. Currently most games are designed to run on current (old) consoles. So I don't feel its worth to own a 3000 when even a 2080(TI) can run everything at a decent level. Most reviews show that there are only edge scenarios where 3000 shines. For example 4k with RTX on.

Let's wait for new console generation and the adoption time is over and AAA games gets designed to run on new console generation. Then we can discuss a new graphic card generation on PC again.

Don't get me wrong 3000 series is very well. Good price for good performance. But is the extra performance required? Do current graphic cards suffer on rendering current games? That's the more important question for me. And I think we're doing fine as of now.
