Regarding the Cheats & Hints.

NOTE: If you can't get the console:
Right click Left 4 Dead in your Games list
Click properties
Set Launch Options
Type in the following: -console
Press ok and close the window.
Now start Left 4 Dead and you should have the console open on the main window.
If you want to open the console with F12 type in this in the console:
bind f12 showconsole (I'm experiencing problems with opening the console in multiplayer games, and it only works in Singleplayer.)
That should be it. If you still have problems, send me a PM.

Now onto the commands!
I have written a list here over commands you can use in the console. Note that most of these needs sv_cheats enabled, and sv_cheats disabled achievements. So you can't earn achievements with these, sorry

Cheats [Needs sv_cheats. Enable with sv_cheats 1]

God 1 - Enabled God-mode for the survivors

Buddha 1 - With this you still take damage, but it never goes under 1hp.

Noclip - Let's you fly around the map. Even through walls

z_spawn [Zombie Name] - Spawn a Zombie. List of Zombies: common, witch, tank, smoker, hunter and boomer.

host_timescale [Amount] - Set the game speed. 0.1 is super slow motion and 5 is Fast forward. I don't recommend you set it over 10 because some PC's may crash there.

sv_infinite_ammo 1 - This command speaks for itself

director_finale_infinite - Endless finale. Rescue never comes.

give [Item] - Give an item to the player. List of items: pain_pills, molotov, pipe_bomb, health, first_aid_kit, autoshotgun, hunting_rifle, rifle, pistol, smg, shotgun, propane_tank and gascan.

survivor_walk_speed - Set the walking speed for the survivors. Default: 85

Kill - Suicide!

Respawn - Come to life again.

mat_fullbright 1 - Makes the map fullbright. No flashlights needed anymore! (Thanks to Ninja Toast from Steam)

These commands however, does not need sv_cheats and can be enjoyed in all servers:

thirdpersonshoulder - Thirdperson view like in Gears of War. [NOTE: For some reason you can't hear Shotgun shots in this mode ]

Keybinds:

bind [Key] "vocalize playerspotpills" - Make your player say "Pills Here!"

bind [Key] "vocalize playerwarn[zombie]" - Replace [zombie] to warn for an incoming Special Infected. Can be hunter, tank, smoker or boomer.

bind [Key] "vocalize panicevent" - Causes the player to swear.

bind [Key] "vocalize playerdeath" - Make a death scream.

bind [Key] "vocalize playerlaugh" - Hahahaha!

Replace [Key] with any key of your choice. Then press it to play the vocalize command.

Write openserverbrowser to see a list of servers instead of waiting for Left 4 Dead to find one for you.

You should definently have a look at a thread i made.
It's mainly about about to make a one of thoes Q menus in game, so instead of adding
