what? its not spelt colour in the united states. its in the dictionary as "color" its just small differences, neither of them wrong, but technically neither are right as well. It all depends on where you are

well since i chat in here i use color but when in essay i spelt it colour.

It's spelt Colour, the next time you say...the other one I will change it for you.

that's because there was a group of literary... people (some say geniuses, others say destroyers of the english language) who tried to make english more phonetic after america won the war of independance... basically both are right in different places, but noone outside of america spells it without the u.

Technically as the English spell it "Colour", then the correct version in the English language is Colour. You may go ahead and speak and type American all you wish, but it ain't English


P.S To solve some confusion, a capital letter at the front of a country's name does not mean you pronounce the letter as a capital. Repeat after me: "iraq".
