Seems the lesson here is if Death comes knocking, don't let the bish in for tea and crumpets. 😉

Yes it is, best lesson ever.
There is no afterlife after death, people have created this concept out of fear. It's really like computers. When you die, your spirit will be sucked out from your physical body.
Your hard drive will be formatted, your pure empty hard drive (spirit), will be cleaned of all bull****, who you were, the beliefs you had etc. Totally cleaned. All memory will be deleted.
End of suffering and you become unconscious.
Then the universe will choose a random woman (mother) on earth to get pregnant for you, so you can get born again. Your physical appearance will be generated by parents. So your spirit is still the same, but you have another physical appearance, personality etc.
There is no more in it, everything is just a cycle.
I think that's a somewhat flawed example or conception.
That would imply that some kind of hang over is possible but you're also implying that the "soul" or "spirit" is simply an energy and doesn't have the capacity to hold code, which is what the body is. While the latter is certainly possible as evident by science, it isn't compatible with the former if the inferred implication is accurate.
