I think it does not matter. I am using the the retail version and it works great. So I believe the 1.6/1.7 trainer can work for both Steam and retail version.

clayp, are you sure you are using the correct version?

Thanks for all the help guys,but I give up..Nothing I try works and its just too frustrating....

It's a steam issue with the trainer, I have to try to dig out my original retail me'thinks.

Trainer made for the retail version and will not work with the Steam version.
Cheathappens refuses to d/l the game from steam and make a new trainer..........

EDIT: Trainer ver. 1.2 works with Steam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
