Listening to Eminem when I was in my mid teens dropped my IQ by 1/10th total and now I am ashamed he is counted as one of the most popular rappers in the industry.
Rappers sing about shooting guns and beating women and such, but odds are they'd scream like little girls if they heard gunshots directed towards them and faint at the sight of their own blood.
In fact, a lot of males freak out seeing their own blood, but women don't. Makes sense I guess...
I respectfully disagree good sir.
Rap nowadays is party-based house beats stuff, the gangsta rap that's everybody equates with the hip-hop genre (the womanizing, gun-toting stuff) is a remnant of the past, that more or less died with 2pac and biggie.
And as for eminem, people have to understand that his "slim shady" persona (misogynistic, homophopic, and violent) is an act he uses to push records and mask insecurities. Listen to the track "Stan" off the Marshall Mathers LP for a serious take on Em and how people are all too ready to misunderstand the message in his records.
