To let everyone know, there's a topic on the Bad Company 2 forums where DICE developers are asking what is annoying players most in the game and are putting together a list of problems, this means that DICE will definitely be releasing a new patch in the future so hang tight and we might be able to get a working trainer for the next patch.

Its all good. No need to worry, if you can't find it here then there is a place called the World wide Web. In any case the game is a lot of fun without a trainer. I just wish some of the newer games did not force people to patch their stuff. If 1.0 works like a champ for you then do not patch it. LOL Sometimes I think companies patch things just to **** people off by telling them that they need this new patch or no apparent reason. For the most part I play games as v1.0 and never need to download any new patches. *sigh*

you know what you guys could do? find patch 4 in any given place, reinstall the game and manually update to patch 4. you can get around the updater, it asks you if you want to update. just say no or launch the game itself and not the updater from its installation folder. now that you have a retail version at patch 4, you can have some fun with the trainer.

a bit of a pain if you want to play online though, seems too much hassle aswell just for a trainer

Well how about remake a trainer then, from scratch, if this "can't" be updated. If this is a new way of handling executables and stuff, I bet it won't be the last. For this game, other games from DICE, EA or everyone/anyone else.
