is there a patch for this game yet to fix the black screen?
Not to my knowledge. You should address this issue to the Ubisoft, just report it from your Uplay account by selecting "Help - Technical Help". If you don't bring this problem to their attention, they will not likely to fix this issue which they do not know exists.
