I'm having what I think is a rather... odd issue. I cannot alter the graphics settings for some reason. I am using the steam version of the game and for the life of me, no matter what I do, the graphics resolution will not update. Using a Widescreen LCD monitor, anything but native resolution looks rather horrible. Since the game settings utility didn't seem to work, I tried to find where the game saves the configuration file. Couldn't find it either. Anyone know?

    It's in the registry.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ubisoft\Prince of Persia - The Forgotten Sands\1.0\Engine

You'll see screen res settings among other things which you might want to try altering, though as the game launcher didn't work for you (and it did for me), changing these directly might not do anything either. Could it be that a graphy driver update fixes it? Might want to check that.

Thanks for the help, but... The settings are correct in the Registry too. I'm running 10.5 Catalyst drivers which are the latest. Perhaps it's an issue with the fact I run dual 5970s for 4xCrossfire? I can't exactly turn off Crossfire though since the 5970's are two chips on one board. Bah, I don't know what the problem is but the game looks rather horrible and very last millennium in it's current form.

Disabling Catalyst AI via CCC removes Crossfire when using X2 card configurations like either the 4870x2 or 5970.
(Also disables all game specific optimizations, advanced setting instead tries to be more aggressive and attempts to force Crossfire via alternate frame rendering mode.)

I have found the solution to my issue. Turns out it is ENTIRELY Ubisoft's fault.

    from Ubisoft's Forums
    Link

    thales.100 :
Open regedit, search for "AlternateVerticalSyncThreshold". Unless you have multiple Ubi games installed, it should immediately give you PoP's registry key. It should look something like Software->Ubisoft->Prince of Persia - The Forgotten Sands->1.000000000->Engine

Right-click the folder called 1.000000000 and rename it to 1.0.

Problem solved. Yeah, it's hilarious, I know. Way to go, Ubisoft.

Mine was named something like that, not sure on the exact number of zeros but renaming it to 1.0 completely solved the issue.
