This game is great, totally worth the 15$ on steam =p Reminds me a little of Greed.
Kind of wishing they would expand on it now, adding like a extensive armor system and more weapons.. Would be great, I wonder if they used the unreal map editor for it..
If the trainer makers are interested I can send them a guest pass so they can play it and make the trainer without having to purchase it on steam.

if anything, greed should remind you of alien breed, not the other way 'round. the first alien breed game came out 20 years ago.

I've heard of the series, Never actually played the old ones, I love the old school games tho so I might give them a try if there abandonedware. They top down shooters? text based? 20 years ago is a long time and the best graphics I think they had at that time was like, snes graphics, or amiga.

2d top down, best of the amiga era graphics in tower assault. the gameplay is identical to the new one, with the only difference being that you have no fallback gun with unlimited ammo, making them a tad more difficult if you don't manage ammo properly, so if you like the new one you should enjoy the old ones as well.

Ahh Alien Breed and Tower assault (not sure if it was tower assault.. lol) i played Alien breed till my eyes bled
Still remember the self destruct lvl where you had to race to the elevator.. Had to make sure you had enough keys to open the doors if you hadn't you where able to shoot teh doors open but that costed a lot of ammo ..
Maybe after this i will fire up my amiga again still got the original discs

/wave to a programmer who used to work for Team 17, before they moved south from Dundee :P
That would be me.
Nice to see some old work friends still having fun. Expected a bit more from a revamped AB, but hey
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

Yeah we had fun back then, but I would say the toughest competition came from Sensible Software. Their SWOS and Cannon Fodder games sold like nothing else.
I think most people who remember Bitmap Brothers was for Xenon 2. Although they did do Gods, Speedball 2 (people remember this but dont remember it was Bitmap Brothers who did it), Steel Soldiers and Chaos Engine.
