Um...get a new PC? I am running this on a VAIO laptop lol...I admit it's got a 1GB Nvidia, 6 GB RAM, Quad core i7...it's a Sony VAIO VPCF115FM if you're looking for more on the specs (It's my school (college lol not high school) notebook, so it's kind of doing double-duty as a gaming rig as well. For me, so far, Conviction is worth every penny, and that comes from a guy who's been playing since SC vanilla. Honeslty, maybe you just need a better rig - because from where I am, with setting on maximum, the game looks like a movie and plays like a dream. Just my 2 kinah.

Guys I'm a bit confused. What do you guys mean when you say stealth is not working?

I remember there was a way to grab the corpses and put them aside (Am I confusing this with thief?), other than that, I played the game in normal mode and finished it in probably 6 hours.

It was a short game. So I had to replay again 2 days after.

I have gtx 285 and 3 gig ram and Core i7, and i still see some cut-scenes to be lagging just like the low fps experience.

    Does anyone else have that?

I think graphics are find but it bothers me to get black and white most of the time since I always walk in the shadows and blow lamps(I love it.)

My rig handles this game fine on maximum details. But I still think the graphics look crappy compared to many other games that have come out lately. Metro 2033 graphics is the new benchmark for what latest gen graphics should be looking like. Splinter Cell is a DX9 ONLY game. DX9 has been out forever. Even Crysis has a DX10 mode and that game came out years ago!

DX10 and DX11 should be a minimum for developers these days. I'm so sick and tired of them catering to stubborn XP users who refuse to leave XP and upgrade to Vista or Windows 7. XP can't handle DX10 or 11 regardless of what graphics card they have so developers are stuck with catering to several different operating systems and these resources could have been used to better the game instead. The ones who suffer the most are those of us with the latest gen technology who want to see the latest benchmarks met or exceeded. We're sick of new releases looking like garbage because of stubborn people who refuse to give up XP and move up to newer tech.

XP was a GREAT OS in its day! But face it, it's way past it's prime at this point. It's time for folks to realize this and move on to bigger and better things so we can all benefit.

Because of DX9, the characters in SC: Conviction look like cartoons. The auto black and white when hiding in the shadows really sucks. Special goggles with night vision was much better in previous versions since it gave you a choice.

The biggest disappointment is the stupid way the game posts all your objectives all over the walls in the game environment. I mean really, if you can see it then why can't the bad guys? It's so freaking lame!

This game is a really dumbed down version of what SC should be. It's more of an action game rather than a stealth combat game. This is noticeable when you see that same can throw a sticky cam a mile without the use of a grenade launcher like in previous splinter cell games.

And I mean come on people! Sam is wearing bright khaki pants! What kind of moron goes on a stealth mission and expects to hide in shadows wearing bright clothing? HELLO, MCFLY????

This is obviously an action game now! And yes the game is really short also. So why such a big price tag? Oh, that's right. We have to pay for this stupid DRM that won't let you play the game unless you're connected to the Internet. WTF?!?! If you own a copy of the game then why should you have to worry about paying for an Internet connection. This type of DRM should be illegal since UBIsoft is not paying for my Internet connection. They don't provide free Internet connections with this game.

well if metro is the benchmark then we have not came too far in the graphics department. i thought the game was alright, too short to blow 60 bucks on tho.storyline was good,6.5 is accurate i would say. this is the kind of game you should rent or barrow from a friend, but to each his own. RESPECT!

Yes the graphics are not crysis but the game had a pretty good feel and I like the game play. Your not gonna get top of the line on anything running the unreal engine. Although I don't think I like the ctrl and shift key mappings. I keep pressing shift to run and i end up walking lol.

My problem is that I just played AC2 which was another ubisoft game but which had a lot nicer graphics. I dont think the same game engine was used for both as I did not see the unreal logo flashed at the beginning of AC2.

According to WikiPedia, AC2 was developed using Anvil engine, which is the same engine that is used for "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands".
