Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City Message Board  

Hey i got this game and the first DLC, lost and the damned, it's ok, but in the ballad of gay tony there are like 5 missions with the chopper... ok np there but the controls are awful. I mean you push the A/D buttons once and the chopper goes halfway sideways ? It's like in steps. With the mouse, same story, goes either 25%,50%. 100% of the way in front. It's impossible to maneuver the chopper around the building when chasing the car to Gracie... what the hell ??

Is this happening only to me ? Or are you having the same problems ?

I don't know what keys it is on a PC, but there should be controls for rotating the chopper left and right without rolling.

In the PC version of the game the keys are mapped to the numpad.
8 for forwards.
4 for rotate left
6 for rotate right
2 for backwards.

I ended up mapping them to IJKL instead, which I found easier, and it meant I could use the trainer at the same time.

I can't get past the mission where you destroy the boat and crew.I get to where you have to kill the crew in the water and always crash into the water trying.If the car mission you are talking about is harder I should just call this another game I won't finish.The helo mission in GTAIV where you had to shoot down another helo was as far as I got in that game.The programmers totally forget some people have disabilities like arthritis.They always have missions where trainers can't be made to help us.If GTAV comes out I will wait and find out if it has the same agravating flying controls before I throw 50 or 60 bucks on it!At least I could finish The Lost and Damned with the CH trainer.

guys guys guys i'm not an idiot... i know what the CONTROLS ARE. It's how the CHOPPER CONTROLS. It's like you know push D once and it's goes sideways halfway... it's nothing gradual. Anyway i finished the game but almost wanted to quit because of the crappy way in which the chopper reacts to the controls...

Haven`t been doing this but....Get a Xbox 360 controller and hook it up to the pc and then some other configuration for it to work ( not sure if you have to or not) but the Controls are better with a controller...Well that easily makes sense!
