Saying that the developpers update the game to stop trainers seems like paranoia to me.

They "just" sold a game unfinished and are trying to make it better (is that uncommon? unfortunately not ). Anyway, if it takes Cheathappens 5 minutes to fix the trainers when a new update come out, i don't really see where's the problem here.

i suppose it's not a problem, but it seems pointless to have 20 trainers for one game out in a week. we'd be better off waiting a week and then updating it to whatever version the game is at when the point arrives OR just waiting until the game is stable for quite some time instead of this pointless updating of trainers every 16 hours or so. I think if they update this quickly again we will probably wait a week or more to update again. if they update thier game immediately after our trainer THEN, well then you will have to decide if it's the trainers or the developers fixing problems.

I'm pretty sure that the devs for this don't care about people using trainers, after all the import character feature allows you to set all your stats to whatever, as well as give yourself gold. The developer cheats are accessible buy changing a single "0" in a text file to a "1" (and it's clearly marked in said text file). Also the non-dev cheats (which give you gold, xp, teleport, and reveal all map) can be turned on from the launch menu. Really anything you might want to do with a trainer can be done with one text tweak and toggling one check box in the launch menu.

The trainer is still nice though because it's a little faster than using the built in cheats.

BTW if anyone wants to know how to do anything I mentioned feel free to pm me or just search around the taleworlds forums.

Their most recent patch has killed the game for retail users -.-, I just got it and can't even play :\, missing some 'escape_menu.dds' file, anyone want to find/upload it for me so i can get it?

We are NOT releasing updates to thwart trainers for the game. With the 'included' cheats, import/export feature, etc. ... that should be quite obvious.

The rapid patches are to fix bugs and glitches as well as add features. That is all, I promise you.

It has been a year or four, but I personally released a small tutorial on how to cheat the original M&B using CE (on our forum). What players do with their single player game is 100% fine ... whatever makes them get the most enjoyment from the game.

Sorry for the frustration, but the stream of patches should slow down soon. Crushing the majority of game-stopping bugs that weren't caught during beta is the priority and is nearly finished.

I've stopped patching until it stabilizes for about a week or so. Saves a lot of hassle, since some of the changes require a campaign restart to take effect.

Oh look, another update via Steam ... even the version number stayed 1.113.
