Is there a reason for why they stay active for only 6 seconds? Is it because there's a chance that the AI can use it too?

Don't actually know, I did get used to the concept though. It was a little tedious at first but I still find times when I have to turn off unlimited movement half-way through the AI's turn, so I guess it's a blessing in disquise for the sometimes absent minded players like me. Still waiting for the naval reload or the ability to merge same type naval ships like Med.2 being I hate having a small beatup fleet running in the Med Sea.

I know, i'm still wondering if the ship options actually work? And why not have the same kind of options for the ground units, make them harder to kill, refill troops, more powerful cannons, something like that.

Look in the forum boards here and look for m8tal's posts and some of mine once I got the hang of the editor program. You can change a lot of stats in the game, just need to know where to look.
