Appears to be working with the Gamersgate/Retail version as well, needs some more testing though but atleast it didn't crash, heh.

They're more or less the same though using Ubisoft's new protection scheme although Steam might have tied the Settlers7.exe file whereas the game file is instead located at "\Settlers7\Data\Base\_Dbg\Bin\Release\Settlers7R.exe"

Also it's a good idea (Outside of Steam which handles it automatically.) to run the update program and patch to 1.0.1 as it fixes numerous bugs as listed here on patches-scrolls.
