Looks like the trainer crashes the game, at least using Windows 7. I am running it via Steam, version 1.0.0.2. After activating the trainer, the game hard crashes to the desktop once gameplay starts. I've also tried activating the trainer in game, same result. I've already created a report.
I don't think this is the trainer.
Have you tried changing the graphic settings? It might be worth trying "/failsafe" in the Steam launch options as well.

I know this is an older post, but there is something about this trainer that is causing the Just Cause 2 to crash. I was testing it earlier and the game ran fine with no trainer. If I used this trainer the game usually crashed in 1-5 minutes. I tried it with different options on but the result was the same.
One thing I noticed is that every time I start the trainer, it seems to open, close, and then open, and I have 6 icons appear on the taskbar for LAV audio filter. I don't see this with any other trainer. That seems a bit odd.
It would be nice if someone would reexamine this trainer, since it is a very fun game to play with a working trainer.

There is indeed a problem since I experienced the same thing : the game runs smoothly without the trainer, and crashes in the few minutes following the use of it.
It is sort of weird, since it looks at first sight like some graphical bug, but there is a link with the trainer, I have little doubt about it. 😕
One of the most often suggested fixes, and referred to above, involve turning off decals and the Bokeh Filter in Advanced Display settings.
Have you guys tried that, is that still a useful fix?

Thanks Jaks! That solved my problems after game is crashing a few minutes after start.😎
