I found something interesting when I was rummaging around the config file (C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\4A Games\ in windows 7). In the keybinding section you'll see this: "bind console". Who knows maybe there'll be a god mode or something else of interest!

Are you using windows 7? The paths are different than in XP (not sure about Vista). If you still have problems just search for the file "user.cfg".

In Windows 7 the user.cfg file is located in the game folder, same path as you installed the game.

That is only the default user.cfg.
In WinXP, it's in C:\Documents & Settings\X\Local Settings\Application Data\4A Games\Metro 2033\
In Vista/7, it's in C:\Users\X\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033\
Edit: Of note is the fact that there is a God mode, as well as unlimited ammo. There are config variables for them already in the default user.cfg in the program directory. Just copy them into the appdir user.cfg and change the obvious parts.
