What I protest is that 3 and out installation limit. That hit me with Spore and when I talked to EA, they set me up with more installs. I had a hard drive crash and reinstalling it after that was my 2nd. Then I bought a new machine and that was my 3rd time. Upgraded the HDD and I hit the limit. I heard they were being taken to court over that but I can't verify it. If I buy a game, I should be able to install it as many times as I want as long as it is only installed one machine at a time. I like what Sacred 2 does: you have to deactivate the serial number before uninstalling it and then you can reinstall it whenever you want. Stop punishing the people who actually buy the games because of the pirates.
The three-install limit was with the securom protection on ME1, and that was removed with a patch. Mass Effect 2 uses a simple serial key for copy-protection, which has no such limits.
I'm agree with VisonHawk.
Are you willing to test this?
I have also done reinstall of windows, and I'm at my second times use. Well so long that you just install an uninstall that doesn't effect the game. But as VisonHawk write, if you do a reinstall or and after that have a computer crash and buy you a new HD, tree times, your done, out of game..
Test it, if you want.

According to Mass Effect 2's EULA, the five install limit is within a 24 hour window.
"(ii) For Software delivered via digital download: This Software uses EA Shared Game Component: Activation digital rights management technology. An EA Account, including the acceptance of EA?s online Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (terms.ea.com), and an Internet connection are required to authenticate the Software and verify your license upon the initial launch of the Software on any unique machine (?Authenticate? or ?Authentication?). Indeed.
If you have a retail version of the game - as stated already - it works on a standard serial number protection. Of course, this serial number can be registered online - for additional features and further copy protection. Therefore, if you have a retail version, there is no installation limit.
As for the digital version, I think what is in the ME2 EULA is very reasonable. Besides, why would you want to install the game on more than 5 different computers within a 24 hour period? If your friends are that cool - they'll already have the game!
