At the moment servers are being DoS'd because most of the broadband kiddies hate the idea they will have to buy the game.
Please stop with your trolling it's not fun anymore.
Do not post messages like this. We have a "Report Post" button for a reason.
DRM is what it is. The control of one's own software. The developers have every right to do this regardless of what you think. If you don't like it, then simply do not buy it. Most people don't have a problem with it since many are going to buy it regardless.

Exactly. As the saying goes, "Put up or shut up". If the game is worthy enough of your attention that you want to play it, then it should be worthy enough for yo to part with you cash to buy the game.
That said, Ubisoft sure hasn't learnt anything since the great circus that surrounded their old starforce DRM. You would have at least expected that in this age for something like this to definitely happen. Yet they still get caught flatfooted. They're their own worst PR =/.
trolling? what dab wrote is probably right. it's taking inordinate amoung of time to run this game, if at all, if you bought it. they are likely getting hammered by DOS from people who are ****ed that it can't be cracked.
best,
Cal
To be honest DDoS a game because it can't be cracked, I'd rather believe that they DDoS it to show how deficient the DRM really are and off the records Ubisoft doesn't have the best reputation to always give their customers the correct information. Link

Somehow this is not just about the DRM anymore - you, DAB, are being equally narrow minded to the people in the post (and elsewhere) complaining about the DRM.
There are a few things that can count as facts here:
1) The DRM will ONLY affect/hurt legit buyers of the game. (Crackers have found a way around and will not be bothered if/when the servers fail - such as the DDoS on them recently, whereas legit customers are dependant on said systems and their quality.)
2) Ubisoft has every right to implement said DRM - no one can say this is a "faulty" or "erroneous" move.
3) Pointlessly whining about the DRM is equally retarded to pointlessly defending it. Face it - there are advantages and disadvantages with every DRM.
4) The DRM will NOT lead to increased or decreased sales whatsoever. (Sins of a Solar Empire is a beautiful example of the "other side"; no DRM (except for the fact that you have an easier time patching the game if you own it) and it still sold really well.)
I will not take a certain side in the conflict, but I do firmly believe that said DRM will do nothing but hurt Ubisoft and the buyers of the game - the customers are the ones that have to pay for Ubi putting the copy protection measures in there, while it should be the pirates who have to pay.

It's good to see the art of debating is still strong in some of us
