I copied over my modified .ini file again and it seems to have resolved the issue. Essentially, it changed the effect that my squadmates could equip the "unlocked" weapons, i.e. Reaver assault rifle, Widow Sniper rifle, etc...

I just wanted to make sure it was still available for a future playthrough as the .ini I modified also changed when those weapons would be available.

So, I think if you copy over your modified, or re-edit the ini again, you should be fine.
