Crysis on high with that system ? What resolution ? 800x600 ??
Still having frame drops below 30 on a Q9550, 8 Gig RAM and GTX285 playing in 1920x1080.
No problems here with AVP with everything maxed out.

game play is really slow but the video cuts are smooth and clear

Try it to start with dx9 and it works very good w/o any perform issues. I have the same if i start the game "normal". With DX9 works perfect and the graphics are PERFEKT on HIGH and ULTRA
