Mass Effect 2 Message Board  

The first time I played this game the map function worked until I did Miranda's loyaty mission, then of course the map function stopped working.

I figured I would start the game over and see what would happen. On this play through I was never able to get the map function to work EVER! Even though the game is displaying a message when I dock at Omega station to press the M key for the map function.

I don't know maybe it's the trainer blocking that function. All I know is all that happens when I press the M key is a compass appears in the lower right hand corner.

Any feedback and or help would be greatly appreciated.

In some missions you cant see the map only the pointer where you need to go or where your objective is thats normal.

Sometimes you don't even get the pointer

The map can only be used in Central Hub areas, such as the main area of Omega, or the Normandy SR2.

In areas such as the Quarantine Zone and other such combat-ready areas, only the compass pointer will come up.

As a rule of thumb, if it's an area where you can draw your weapon/use powers or can do so without entering a loading-screen, you'll get the pointer/compass. If you can go through the entire area without being able to draw your weapon, then it's going to give you the map.

Well as I said before on my second playthough of the game I have never been able to get the map function to work. I guess I'll just have to call EA about this.

Maybe not. The map only appears if you TAP the M key, if you hold it, you'll get the compass/radar.
