I am not sure how many of you played the first game. If you notice the locations of the star clusters in the first game and then take note of them in the second you can see that a majority of the second game takes place on the opposite side of the galaxy. I would imagine that ME3 will include remodled worlds from the first game in addition to the second. In reality the time costs to bioware are all the voice overs and getting the story boards to play out correctly. Between the complete revamp of the gameplay in ME2 combined with the dialog of what 10? heroes the cost in time is astronomical. This is what I do know, EA drives their studios like slave labor so count on seeing ME3 around earliest rumored date. EA does rush studios but what makes Bioware unique is that the ycan hit deadlines with games that do not need day 1 patches. In fact I dont think ME2 has even had a patch yet.
i noticed that too and thought the same as your thinking. And hopefully it will be like that. in ME3 you get the whole galaxy.
Though EA isn't stupid anymore. They know bioware and mass effect are huge investments and they treat big investments pretty nice. Look at the mass effect delay. Bioware told EA, hey we need more time. And without even hesitating EA said okay have 4 months. So i wouldn't be too worried about ME3 being rushed.
Especially since their already starting pre-production now and the game engine is already built since most likely they will just reuse the ME2 engine with some modifications.
As far as the story goes, they've probably been working on that for 6 months since the ME2 story was finished over a year and a half ago. So basically i wouldn't be too worried about it being rushed.
but also, like you said, EA will want it out ASAP. But i still think a Fall 2011 release is the earliest.

Mass Effect can easily be converted into a Star Wars kind phenomenon and maybe its already well on its way. i read on Wiki that someone just bought the rights to make a movie on it too sometime in the near future i'm very impressed with Bioware/EA with the way they handled Mass Effect. its as close to perfection as one can get. u're right about not being too worried with ME3 being rushed. because ME2 just blew me away and inspite of that i hear some people complaining that it was rushed. well...if this is the result of a rushed product...then i want more of it

@saurabhfzd:
That was the interview I was looking for, thanks
As for a movie someone has bought the rights to do it, but I really hope they don't - look at Hollywood's track record of games/books/comics/etc turned movies. That being said, if there is a movie Bioware will be heavily involved in it I think, as they've stated that if it gets done, they'll make sure it's done right.
If they had the ME team write the story and, maybe, the script then it'd probably turn out to be a kick ass movie. I've lost most of my faith in Hollywood in recent years.

u're welcome skyheart. u're right about Hollywood's track record being poor on making movies from games and comics etc. but if Bioware/EA have a strong say in it i'm sure it'll turn out okay.
