    Dear Mayors,

First of all we want to thank you for your support since Cities XL was released in October of last year, and as far back as October 2007 for some of you.

In early 2007 we decided to be those who would make a new offer to City Builder games fans. Right from the start Cities XL has always been an innovative project regarding its online dimension. Of course, trying something new always comes with a risk.

Three months after the launch we have to admit that the subscription rate is lower than what we expected and therefore the Planet Offer is no longer sustainable. Not enough players decided to subscribe.

Therefore, it is with deep regret that we decided to put an end to the Planet Offer on March 8th 2010. It will no longer be possible to subscribe to the game starting Monday February 1st 2010.

Nevertheless the Cities XL adventure goes on! Cities XL will evolve into a fully single player game. As soon as march the Bus will be added for free in the solo game. At the same time we also keep on working on new content and new features to keep on improving Cities XL.

We do realize that some of you were real fans of the Planet Offer, and loved to be able to visit other player’s cities and trade tokens between each other. There are simply not enough of us.

Thank you again for your understanding and support.

For more detailed information, you can read the FAQ Link.

Im gonna miss the online but not that price..

The planet offer sucks. It just give you the possibility of trade with other people, visit his cities and chat. You can't connect a road with the one in other city and watch the people moving or watch the other city near yours. Is stupid pay for it.

I started paying 3 months of Planet offer, so excited because i love play this type of games since around 1992, with sim city and my 486 and with the new graphics of this game and the online feature I thought it would be amazing, but not... I get exactly the same **** as in offline, but when you press the trade button, you find more people, not just omnicorp.
After pay 50€ (Is not exactly a cheap game) they say you "If you want build bus station, you have to suscribe" and when the game is released, there is no bus...

And of course, the offline games is worst than the online, trade is extremly expensive for buy and cheap for sale, can't trade with your own citys, no public transport, no expansion... Sucks extremly. I'm happy of this sinking and I don't gonna buy any game of this guys. Of course, I don't want to renew.

I agree, their was no need to make cities XL rich to see ppls cites when all they had to do was SS them and upload them to a site. Need more ppl to build buildings.... I miss Sim City 4!!!

i remember beta testing it, and was with them since it was first announced. they had great attitude and great ideals when it started, but then they went downhill fast when it got near the beta testing time. they stopped listening to the fans that they advertised to, and when they did listen they often did the exact opposite of what a vast majority were asking for, and they promised many things that they didn't provide or just lied about.

many players were very angry with them and as a result, many dedicated fans abandoned the game during the beta test, and so many were disappointed with the game that they closed the official forums due to there being so many disapproving topics about the game and the developers.

many players thought the PO was a horrible idea, and many thought it would die. but wow, i was not expecting it to die that fast.

Well I just got on this site a few months ago, thought I'd try out the trainer for this game, I wish there was a way to MUTE the Activated noise... without muting my whole city..

As for Monte Cristo, I'm SO GLAD they closed up shop. The online offer was a GREEDY move on their part.. Who in their right mind would want to pay $120 USD a year??? No thank You.. as for the later games, they only visually improved the game, it still has the raging flaws of cities XL.. so you think I'm gonna shell out $40???? Heck no.. With SIM CITY due in less than 7 months, I'm gonna WIPE cities XL off my HDD when that game comes out.. I'm super stoked for the return of the Grand Daddy of City Builders.. SIM CITY is gonna be online, but it doesn't look like its gonna be a monthly $$$ service...

Would I pay $5-10 USD a month for Sim City Online? NO.. I have enough bills A.T.M.....

Anyways, Cities XL is ok, but does look dated.. on my 42" tv it looks Drained of color.
