    I think Steam had patched again ?
    (January 19, 2010 - Steam client update released)

    I was just in the game and received a:
    G_Spawn: no free entities ... Error

    Can anyone confirm ?

    That's a Steam client update, not a game update.

    I am seeing "no free entities"-errors when I am using the "rapid fire" and "no reloads" options together.
    Also certain weapons seem to be more sensitive than others when it comes to this, primarily shotguns if I recall correctly.
    Try turning "rapid fire" off and playing past the crash-point or using a different weapon.
