There would be NO recall or anything of the sort. It is on their end with network not with your console.

might want to double check your research.. because I researched, for hours..it had nothing to do with network..the Problem I'm talking about is the clock going to 1999 and bricking the system. It was an issue with the internal clock (Hardware) which if It didn't fix it's self you have to void warranty and remove the battery or have Sony do it, They waited, clocked rolled to 3.1.2010.

Highly doubtful anyone would search for hours,ha. The issue was stated to affect online connectivity, along with other things.
On top of not having to do anything sony announced they had found a fix for the problem.
