OK here is what you do. You are going to change the console command from the tilde key to a key not used in the game, how about the X button for example

In windows vista browse to the folder: C:\Users\(YOUR COMPUTER NAME)\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings\" there will be a file in this Settings folder called "KeyBindings.ini".

If you are using windows xp, then folder will be C:\Documents and Settings\(YOUR COMPUTER NAME)\My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings\"

You can also just do a search of your C drive for "KeyBindings.ini" without the quotes, and find the file that way.

Make a backup of the file if you wish, and then open the KeyBindings.ini document with notepad or wordpad or any text editor.

Go to the very bottom where it says "OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_Grave"

Change it to say something like "OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_X"

Save the file and you're done. When you are in the game and press the X button, at first will seem like nothing happens, then just start typing "runscript" for example, and you will see all the letters in the alphabet show at the top of the screen. If you see those letters, then you are all good.

I actually had the same problems with opening the console. The only key I had luck using was the "Home" key. You can use this key by adding this to the file:

OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_Home

Works for me. Remember you can't see that the console opens, only the code numbers at the top of the screen when you start typing. Probably knew that already, but better safe than sorry.

I have another problem though. When I launch the cheat program, it appears to close, and then immediately open again (if you imagine the cheat window briefly starting to minimize, then immediately reappear). Didn't think of it at first, but when I launch the game and press "F1", the "Activated" sound keeps playing in a weird way. The sound is "Actia-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a" and keeps going until I either open the item editor ("/" button) or exit the cheat application. Also, the cheat option "Numpad 6" adding skill points seems to run automatically. When I load a game (and the a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a sound is still going on) I get a skill point every time the sound starts to play. I've been able to have it add a few attribute points by spamming "numpad 5", but by the time I have around 5-7 attribute points to distribute, the cheat application has added 100 (the maximum) skill points to my character.

Not sure what causes this, or if the fact that it auto-adds skillpoints has anything to do with it. But I hope you can help.

*edit* Hmm, my problem was solved after restarting my PC. Probably not related to the cheat application then. I'll leave my issue here just in case someone else has the same problem - try restarting

My problem is that in the Broken Circle Quest, I have freed Wynne from her nightmare, but the game is not allowing me to go to the other party member's nightmares, I'm stuck, can you help please? 🤔

Have you defeated all of the demons in each realm and got the symbol that shows over each area?

Hi, it is a good game, how do you kill Loghain on one to one combat I got tired!

What character did you choose to face him?
What class is that character if he's your created one?
What difficulty are you playing on?
