I had the same problem and a quick trip to Ubisoft's support page listed the no sound issue.
The game doesn't support anything over 48000hz sound, so check your sound settings and adjust them.
I had mine set at 24bit 96000hz and after a quick bump down to 48000hz the sound is working just fine now.

MonoMadrox got it. I was having the same problem with the avatar game, but as soon as I changed my sound configuration (control panel, souund, select speakers, properties, Advanced sheet and on the default format changed it to 24bit 48000hz) and restarted the game it was running perfectly. oh, and no more crashes either. Thx, MonoMadrox. BullĀ“s eye. Ps: My OS is Windows Vista Ultimate 64.

wotaHK, lower your sound config even more. Try 16bit 32000Hz or 22050hz. If all else fails, try downloading the newest pach from Ubisoft. My game is working just fine at 32bit 48000hz.
