Black & White 2 Message Board  

Well it's been some 4 years and several months since Black & White 2 and 3 years and some months since B & W 2 Battle of the Gods. One cannot help but wonder if such a game will gain a successor. In my opinion the game had good gameplay and graphics, it's story wasn't bad, only it was a little short. I guess it's an ever hopeful wish that there's a Black & White 3, worthy of it's predecessor. Maybe they're preparing for a comeback that will leave it's stamp in gaming history or maybe they've forgotten such a wondrous game. Still I remain optimistic. Anyone sharing similar opinions here, please kindly take a moment to comment.

I agree Black and white 2 for me was the moment I got serious about gaming.

If ever there was another sequel I'd buy it no problem

Look backwards. The original B&W was much better than the sequel. You may not like the graphics though

there were some things in black and white that were better, but the two things I like in black and white 2 that the original didn't have.One good graphics that was a major problem in the original. Two you didn't get to have your people fight. that is just my opinion though.

I'm actually a huge fan of series it was a mind blowing game with a lot of freedom. Waiting for b&w3 very much.

The original Black and White is a masterpiece..

Black and White 2 was fun, however lacked some things for me.

First, games are not ALL about graphics. Sure, graphics are pretty too look at and appealing, but there is more much content in the original black and white..

First thing: Creature Mind.

Training you creature in Black and White 1, was like raising a child. Teaching it miracles, pooping on trees, teaching it tons of miracles.. It was a blast having creatures that you personally trained for hours on end.


Second: Miracles.. 🤔

How do you go from more than 15 or 20 miracles to 8 (if you have the expansion for Black and White 2.) The miracles in Black and White were awesome and you could teach them all to your creature! Even the extreme miracles..

Third: Multiplayer

What happened? To me it feels like they went a step backwards in BnW2. Less miracles, no multiplayer, less intensive creature training.. If people still play Black and White 1, they would know that there are still people who play it online over Hamachi or other virtual networks. It makes it nearly 10x more fun playing with actual people online..

Fourth: Creatures

Come on.. Again, they chose to decrease the amount of choices. In BnW1, there were many different creatures to choose from all with different stats.

Fifth: Temples

The temples in BnW1 were much cooler.. Depending on your influence in a realm the bigger your temples tower was. Depending on whether you are good or evil, it changed. (Yes, I know it changes in BnW2 as well, the city changes too which is cool.)

Sixth: Towns

The villages are terribad in BnW2. In BnW1, capturing a village was a strategy to get influence closer to your enemy or to get awesome miracles. You could continue constructing that village and make them huge like your starting village. In BnW2, the villagers just come to your town leaving a ghost village on the realm..

Don't get me wrong, Black and White 2 is insanely fun and has a good amount of perks that BnW1 doesn't, but it's not the game it could have and should have been.

If they do make a BnW3, I hope they bring a lot of BnW1 features back including the ones stated above and slap on some pretty graphics to sweeten the deal. However, Peter M is an idiot and prefers the Fable series for now, even though each one is the same game with slighty altered graphics, characters and towns..and some weapons..

Well there is probably going to be Black & White 3, they are just waiting Microsoft to officialy support kinect on PC, I think that Black & White would be a super game with kinect on PC
