First off, I've never seen the 'Directors Cut' of the game. Is that the 'Designers Cut' also? Second, I tried the trainer and didn't work for me, I have the retail version which is now version 1.10. I just play normally, But I'm experiencing a lot of crashes at random dates, especially when I'm trying to save. Anyone have any remedies for this?

Btw, I don't have the game discs anymore. The game stayed on my computer after I turned the game back in for a refund cause it kept crashing... I'm wondering if i could transfer the game to a disc...nvm...that wouldn't re-install it. Maybe its the patch. I've got as far as 1677 before it crashed. Any help would be most appreciative.

The trainer doesn't seem to be working for me either. I press for gold or unlock ships, and all I hear is "On" or "Off" which is really strange, as you'd think with gold it'd say "Activated" like it does on every other trainer.

Any advice?

I have noticed one odd thing, at the dates that the game crashes is usually 12/16??. if i restart the game at the last auto-save and then get to the most recent crash spot, then increase the game speed to 2x or 4x, it will sometimes successfully pass over the previous crash spot. but it doesn't always work.

Still no success with the trainer. I have the "DESIGNERS CUT", had no idea there was a 'Directors Cut' too. My version isn't a steam version either, just fyi.

I have designers cut (from steam) v 1.10 - the same one the trainer says - but no option on the trainer will work for me. I tried older trainers that are labeled for steam, but they only serve to crash the game (and computer).
I have tried activating the trainer both at main menu and in-game, I have read the instructions extremely carefully, but the trainer doesn't work. At least it doesn't crash the game like the older trainers do.
I think there is more than one version 1.10 out there? And it doesn't seem to work for the steam version.

something is probably blocking it like AV or OS permissions.

My apologies to PWiz for posting that before fully testing all the options on the trainer. Options one, three, four and five do not work for me. All others I have had at least partial success (although i haven't tried option six or option * yet).

Has anyone else found this who has the steam version 1.10 designers cut? Or am I by myself? Any help would be useful.

I found that on the Official EIC website, there is a updater for the Designers cut. updates to version 1.12, and no crashes since ive updated either...just a AI that cheats after 1630.
