Regarding the Trainer (Patch 12.16.2009), Unlimited Team Health, No Reload, U....

I literally dispise Steam!!! I went to eat supper - restarted the game and found Steam had once again installed another patch! If I needed this game patched I would patch it! But Noooooo! Steam thinks I don't have enough sence to do this. This is especially unacceptable when you consider the fact that I bought my game from a retailer (Best Buy).

In addition, it does not make any difference what-so-ever, if I set the game in Steam to NOT automatically update! The moment I close the Steam applet, the setting is changed back to auto update.

I failed to mention; the last C.H. trainer was working in a very satisfactory manner, and I appreciate Caliber's great work!

We are being consumed by statism (state-ism). It is very unfortunate that our normalcy bias prevents us from being aware of this. Also, regardless of our level of awareness, the end of this process will be our enslavement to the state.

I believe that one of the main reasons that so many consecutive patches are released is to cause exactly this. For some reason, they seem to not want people to be able to use trainers. As PWiz has said before, all the patches are are memory location shifts to prevent the trainer from functioning.

That is one of the chief reasons I hate STEAM.

So its always good to play the game on offline mode (Steam client), while playing single player.
Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

[New trainer works just fine But the new trainer is to good to last by Friday 12/18. Steam will pop a gasket and apply the new patch of Doom] . As always PWIZ & CAL have always come to the rescue so people stop moaning and give thanks to Cheat Happens

I agree. Playing offline does prevent Steam from installing patches. However, I have a number of programs requiring constant internet connection and it is easier for me to remain online during game play. That said, I do NOT play Left 4 Dead in any of its' online modes - I play all of the games I own in single player mode only.

there is 1 thing you can do about this and that is to not keep the game up to date.

right click on the l4d2 line in the my game tab of your steam client and choose options in de menu, now go to the updates tab and select do not automatically update this game.
now click close and it will not update the game anymore.
