Copy or Create a shortcut for Crysis.exe
Right Click on the shortcut and select "Properties"
At the end of the "Target" line add -dx9
The Target should now look something like this ("C:\Program Files\Crysis SP Demo\Bin32\Crysis.exe" -dx9)
Launch the game from this new shortcut and you should be all set
To verify you can enable the console command to display frame rate and it will tell you what version of Direct X you are running

Got it other way, thanks for the reply.

To check the version, you just need to alt-tab out, the game will change to windowed and it will show the DX version.

To run in DX9 I just used Vista's Game Explorer.
