Theoretically, you can. Lase it with the launcher and the targeting system on the missile should be able to track it unless it takes off real fast. With the helos standing still like that, it should theoretically work.

But in reality, the helos would be standing way far off when they're attacking the evac point.

The game is horribly unrealistic regard to the sheer scale of modern warfare.

The Russian helos would be so far off that you couldn't lase them. Later, when you pop green flairs on the White House roof, real fighters would have been there and gone before the pilots eyes could register the color. The controller going high and slow above would register them. If there were really going to destroy the White House with aerial attack, it would have been launched long before the planes were visible.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

Also, the control systems of the Mi-28 are shielded against EMP. As are the more complex US and Russian military vehicles, such as the BTR's which somehow stop as well.

And the holographic sights will still have the outline of their targeting reticule even once the reddot is knocked out.

And the Russian nuke can't detonate without separating into its individual warheads.

And it is highly unlikely that such a blast would expel enough atmosphere from the Earth to destroy the ISS.

And how the hell did the Russians get across the Atlantic? Regardless of any "key" to satellite surveillance, you still have to get past the Navy and the Air Force. In Red Dawn, they got around that by having the bulk of them tied down in and around Europe. But there is no such situation in MW2.

    GAH!
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

yeah quite surprised with the ISS bit, and also that no other nation alerted the US or detected the MASSIVE troop/vehicle movement. No sub attacks was equally odd.

on a positive note, loved the vast array of weaponry you get to play with, and the storyline is great as ever....couldn't believe the ending!! I want a sequel now.

MP part of the game is poor and full of hackers, should have stuck with PB not VAC.

There are lots of weapons, but I used 3-4 type only.

Yeah, but most of them are just modified FAL's.

Um... Javelin missile uses heat detection (also this weapons is a fire and forget type), instead of laser lock.

So yeah, theoratically it is possible to take down helicopter (heat came out from engine) with Javelin...
