To each and there own. It surpassed my expectations, as i didn't expect miracles and such to go with the hype in the first place.

I must say however, i was impressed. I have played most games bioware have released, the height for me was actually Neverwinter nights 1(lost count howmuch of my life has been lost to that game), rather then baldurs gate. But anyway, Just about everything impressed me, apart from the actual combat itself. Although nice to look at, it gets mildly repetitive at times, and i usually end up spamming talents when i can too.

Still, the fact it comes with a nice shiny toolset for mod making, makes the game infinitely more replayable, once those mods get churning out.

@ H.H.H: Maybe you just don't like RPG games?

@ Anyone: This game is a masterpiece. It is one of the 5 all-time favourite games of mine (others being diablo 2, spellforce, witcher & gta iv)

In my opinion this game is better than elderscrolls oblivion.
I'm playing this game for the third time now, & it still seems different than i first played it. DAO is certainly worth the money, worth buying the collector's edition.

I'm finding it quite a challenge to find flaws in this game.
Graphics are excellent, music is great, voice-acting is out of this world, story-line outranks a hollywood blockbuster & gameplay is very satisfying.

    Hats off to bioware

No I love RPG games, like fallout or Mass effect or oblivion or ...

This games has nothing usefull and enjoyable and the worst thing is controls. I'd like to play rgp games like other rpg games not with mouse.

Oblivion was ok (i clocked up to 110 hours overall in that game) but man did it become boring fast after that!

Fallout... now which Fallout are you talking about? Fallout 3? because that really wasn't a full on RPG it was an FPS with RPG elements, Fallout 1 & 2 however were great RPG's.

    Mass Effect, Great RPG.

And a lot of RPG's are played with a mouse

    Dungeon Siege
    Fallout 1&2
    NWN
    (i could go on)

Also "This games has nothing useful and enjoyable" I disagree, The game has a great storyline, well planned out characters, awesome story arcs and best of all, your decisions during the game don't make the endgame outcomes predictable.

Well dialogue helps in telling the story of DAO. If you dont like dialogue then go play MMO.

@H.H.H.- While the games you mention are all games implementing many RPG functions, they all fall more under "Action" or "FPS/RPG" hybrid categories. This game, as Bioware has stated, was intended to be a "spiritual successor" to Baldur's Gate. You will find that most "classic" RPGs utilize the point-and-click format, and do not neccessarily require fully player-controlled attack sequences and so forth.

That being said, perhaps this was your first time playing an RPG using the "classic" style, in which case you now know for your next purchase that this is not your forte. If ME and other action/shooter based RPG hybrids are your thing, remember that you have ME2 to look forward to on January 26. I found this game to be a great and entertaining game myself, but as has been previously stated several times; To each their own. I am not critizing you in any way, I am simply explaining my opinion of the situation, I truly hope you enjoy your next forray into the RPG gaming world, in whatever form that may be.
