He didn't mention a trainer. He's saying that HL2 is crashing (his steam version). I have both a retail disc version and a steam download version. Both work ok here, and always have. I suspect there is something wrong with yours. Try verifying the integrity of the game cache. You can do that from some options that appear when you right-click the title in steam. Also make sure it is fully up-to-date. Failing that, I would delete the local files and re-download. Update your graphics drivers while you're at it.
He's running something with his Steam version of HL2 that is causing the game to crash. What else would it be? He may not have explicitly said Trainer, but what is CHU known for that is not compatible between Steam and Retail versions of games, and when using them, can cause a game to not work correctly?
@ PhoenixCH:
I have the latest version of EVERYTHING. I just got windows 7, and ALL my Steam games had to be re-downloaded, I had no issues with the cache. So what else can I do???
Strange how this seems to affect most people. I've gone through Win XP on multiple installs, Win Vista and now comfortably running Win 7 without having to re-install a single game. Just install your Steam folder in "anywhere" except C:\program files (in my case use different HD for all games) and you can comfortably just change your OS any time and just "re-install" steam application over the already existing steam folder you had your games installed in and "voila" all games are recognized and playable without any bugging and without having to download in excess of 40-50 games again
Just a tip for all you out there who actually use steam and have the option of a second HD
Edit: should say that you can use C:\program files folder desitnation too and just "back-up" to a second HD and move everything back once you re-install steam after you change OS works aswell.
In other words just copy/back-up your steam forlder. Install steam. And copy steam folder back over your new install. and all registration files and everything is auto sorted by steam and all games work.

I tried finding gamesuckworld.com, no luck, trying to find a half life 2 trainer that is compatable with steam...,if you know of any other websites with compatable trainers , please let me know , thank you
I know the site he is referring to, so replace the word suck with burn in that url (be careful sticking urls in forums CH members but that site is well-known anyway to CH staff) - but I've already checked and non of them work with Steam from that site. For anything to work with Steam needs constant updates, especially if made by Valve! Wish they would get a move on with Episode 3
Stick using console commands or tweaking the .cfg files to guarantee usage, all provided in the Cheats section

There is now a compatible steam version trainer over at CheatScapes. There are no others on the web for steam/latest version at this time because, either people haven't bought the game (and thus can't get updates), or they can't be bothered to keep re-releasing it to keep up with Valve's updates.
