Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Message Board  

i just put the cheat in config file and save it as read only.. when i started the game i tried to play in hardened difficulty, it worked!!!

just select "mission select" and press o ...

since i love FPS, i only cheat in difficult: Hardened and Veteran

I installed the game via my cd's but it didn't say i had to install through steam, i installed it now, and the game is located in "program files\activision\modern warfare 2" and there is no players folder, i already tried doing a few mission of the campaign and spec ops, but still no players folder, does anybody knows how to solve this issue?

the cheats works for me,, no problem..

My point is, there is no "Players" folder, im halfway through finishing the game but still no "Players" folder.

I still get the same problem.

Found the cfg file, added the cmds, binding the keys, respectively to o,p and è.

I did the read-only thingy, then saved.

Upon entering the game from launch icon, I resume the game, type the bound letters, but nothing, I get creamed while frantically pressing o p or è...

Any ideas about the spacing issue mentioned above?

That is not where you would find it... Look here: C:\Program Files\steam\common\call of duty modern warefare 2\players or
C:\Program Files(x86)\steam\common\call of duty modern warefare 2\players in that folder look for config.cfg

When i go into program files there is no Steam folder, my modern warfare 2 is installed in program files/activision/Modern Warfare 2.
I really have no idea why, it also didn't ask me to install steam, neither did modern warfare 1. Isn't it possible to make a players folder in my directory and see if it works then?
The game also didn't ask me to make a profile ingame, but somehow it still saves progress. And i also can't find the version number of the game anywhere.
Can anybody help me with this?

It's the details that count. I tried numerous times to edit the cfg file...using notepad. Kept researching and reading on the web....came across someone who said edit the file with wordpad. The cfg file looks totally different in wordpad...wordpad shows the file formatting notepad can't. Copy and paste the cheats into the file and it worked first time with wordpad. That one detail is missing in every other post I came across here and everywhere else. Thought I'd share it.
