Hi, I'm replaying for the second time and I'm playing through Orzammer and this time have chosen Beilen for king because supposedly he has a better ending for the dawrves (is this true btw?) and I am in the deep roads, I have the search for Branka quest but he hasn't shown up yet - will he, or is there a problem with the game and I should restart this section (I'm in the beginning of Caridin's Cross). Thanks.

that never happened to me maybe try reloading the game from in orzammar before u left and talk to him in the tavern and see if that helps (and yes it is a better in a way)

I know you've probably done the correct things, but check to see you've been through these steps (assuming you chose Balin from the beginning, and yes, his ending isn't necessarily better so much as the dwarves comes out of it with greater strength than under Harrowmont):

1) Speak to Dulin and trick the two Lords into thinking Harromont screwed them over.

2) Return to Dulin and report them, thus being allowed to meet with Balin. Accept next quest from him.

3) Run into Oghren and another dwarf mincing words near the passage between the commons and the diamond district.

4) Go to Dust Town and deal with the carta there.

5) Report back to Balin and accept mission to find Branka.

6) Head out to Carridin's Cross and Oghren should intercept you before you get to the mine entrance's guards.

If none of that works, revert to an earlier save and try from there I guess :-/

OK, I decided to put Orzammar off for a while and complete everything else but now I have the same problem. I see the conversation Oghren has mincing words with another dwarf, he goes to the exit and disappears from my game. It doesn't matter who I chose for the candidate. He is supposed to next appear in the bar where you can have a small conversation with him where he basically tells you to **** off but he's missing there also. He doesn't appear when I get the find Branka quest at all. Can anyone help me with this?

This bug hapened to me and I know its happened to a number of others. Basicaly you should have oghren by the time you enter the deep tunnels. I didnt see him at all and in the end I used the "runscript zz_addparty Oghren" command to get him
