I second this notion. Even after following every walkthrough I've come across I'm having serious trouble with a lot of the later missions.

ive been watching this everyday hoping for a trainer thats steam compatible! still no luck . Im not one to beg but please please please develope a steam working version! im not to good at strat games but love playing this one but still havent been able to complete a campaign because well basicly im rubbish lol. i will kiss the feet of anyone who gets a working version for steam v1.09.

There is a way to get the 1.9 Mega Trainer working for the steam version. Thanks to a poster in the Kanes Wrath forum who initially discovered this method. Go to gamecopyworld and download the 1.9 nocd fix. Replace the cnc3game.dat in your installfolder/RetailExe/1.9 folder with the one from the archive. The 1.9 trainer will now work. Don't forget to make a backup first, especially if you want to play online. I assume steam would just update but I'm not sure.

Best thing to do at that point, is to turn off file verification. I'm not sure about auto updating, because EA will more than likely not update it again.
EDIT: The regular trainer works with the Steam version! I don't know if running it as administrator is a requirement, but advised.
