What is the likelihood of this trainer causing a vac ban on a SP campaign. I really don't want to lose my steam games and am more than a little paranoid.

As Long as you dont use it in Multi-Player you will be fine.
Death is a natural part of life. The sooner you accept it the sooner you will conquer bigger better things.

VAC is only enabled online. Earlier I was playing SP and seen a friend playing, so I joined him; forgetting the trainer was still on. I was too scared to get banned so hard-reset my pc before the map finished loading, lol.
Not banned yet and hope I won't be. It's a bad mistake :<

Would running steam and the game in offline mode stop accidental connections? What happens if you try to join multiplayer, does it put you in online mode and connect anyway?
I want to try the trainer but I don't want to be VAC Banned.

if you are going to get VAC baned you will only notice in a week or so. That's how VAC works.

You only risk getting banned if you use the trainer online. There is no risk if you use it offline.
