This is getting ridiculous,every time i change the update setting it changes back and updates itself.Does reinstalling reverse the update?Does the binding cheat work better?

Why would autoupdates reverse themselves for MW2, yet the setting to not autoupdate E:TW has stayed for me since the second patch?

I second. ETW's disabling of auto updates works, I stopped at 1.3 and it never did reset.

As for MW2, since I don't want to use trainers on it yet, I just "go with the flow".

Don't really understand how but i promise you its doing it.every time i change to do not update,when i restart later its back at keep game up to date

Make sure you uncheck the run steam when windows starts box in the settings area under interface.

Ok, I set both the single player and multi player components to "do not update" and it has held through two times closing and reopening Steam.

If you signin online then will come back on. The general reason being that all players need to have the latest version to play online. So long as you stay offline it won't auto-update. But then you won't be able to access online lobbies, download other games and generally have no access to all other steam stuff. I would just let the game update personally, and use the updated trainers that are released, because you're fighting a losing battle.
