Prima guide mentions that its possible to have Alistair rule with Anora and spare Loghain. However the condition for this is that Alistair has been changed.

Anyone knows what this means?

You will have some choices with Alistair you can calm him down or harden him up if you pick Harden the outcome you state can happen. If you calm him down and choose the path to save Loghain, Alistair will leave the party forever. I believe the choice for this is earlier in the game and not towards the end of it.

You can change him as a person(as in changing his attitude towards how he perceive things and in return act towards it) during his personal quest after he meets goldana. The dialogue starts after you two visited the sister and left the house,

the dialogue you are suppose to choose to change him is,

"Everyone is out for themselves, You should learn that."

After that there will be another dialogue if you talk to him again, as long as you don't choose "That's not what i meant. Don't do that"..alistair will be changed.

i have Laghain joined with me but i didnt loose Alistair.its about the right conversation Alistairs approval rating i guess if its high he wont leave..

I have Alistair and Anora to agree to marry each other.

nice.. I think my game is bugged, I play a male char and got to 100 approval with Alistair but he won't marry me! Grrr

You can get Alistair and Anora to marry if you muster enough support from the nobles at the Landsmeet, dual Lohgaine yourself and kill him, without having Alistair do it. If you have him kill Anora's father, she says she can't marry the man who killed her father, thus making the joint marriage impossible.

So if my char is a human female mage, would Alistair marry her if he has high approval rating? Or would he only marries "Noble" human female?
