Is it supposed to work in the Career part of the game, too?

We've tried the cheats, it beeps, we hit start to go into the next screen, select our Career, and nothing happened- no cheat. WTF?

if you go to the race anbd before you exept turn yr car to manuel then before the race starts turn it back to auto, this way yr in auto but everyone else is in manual and its ded easy!
