The damn thing keeps cutting Chris head-off. I have tried everything from shooting it, grenades, shooting the red barrels. Damn thing wont die!!

Try to shoot his eye! then go and use melee.and if he is trying to cut your head off just Run into him it will work don't worry!

naw dude i was in the same boat u was in if you can go buy the missile launcher and shoot his ass with it watch he blow ups the guns dont work i tryd it got my haed cut off 3 time using a gun u got to blow his ass up it works i beat the game wit it

What I usually did before I had access to magnums and rocket launchers, is that in my first playthrough I made sure to grab the shotgun from the hut next to the first Cephalo encounter. Save the shotgun for the chainsaw guy.

What you do is, with a shotgun at close range, it takes two shots to stun the chainsaw Majini. So one when he's still a bit off, and one more when he's within chainsaw range and he'll be stunned (Aim for the head for a melee prompt).

This works on veteran or below difficulty level.

use hand grenade this also works.

Grenades or depending on your difficulty use a rocket to one hit kill the the sob. (it requires two rockets on harder difficulty).

It worked. i have ran into another one in the oil fields. At- least i know how to kill it.

There is two chainsaw guys in oil field,have fun!
