I went and bought this based entirely on Dhampy's review.

It was a good idea.

And like him, I find the idea of using a full-auto machine gun on fleeing Confederate troops to be an absolute hoot.

Even its relative simplicity does not detract from the game.

just wish they had a better ending. it kinda disappointed me

I think they set it up for a sequel.

But what, is this an FPS or something?

Yes.

It's not very pretty, but the story and gameplay completely overshadow that fact.

I though the game sucked, based on the Gamespot review. It rated the game 4.5/10 which is poor.

Is Gamespot turning out to be foolish game critics?

Just got it, have played through 2 missions of the Civil War and 1 from World War.

I've seen uglier graphics, also.

And the Battle of Antietam is epic, even if its a game.

Damn this isn't even released in EU countries but i've played the demo.. it was GREAT
