Why, why to FU***NG HELL I can't shoot while moving, even aiming while moving... Why people said it's tradition? Maybe I shouldn't play computer games because it's not tradition!? WHY?
But they said that we will be able to shoot and move...

This thing of trying to bring together the original gameplay style with the new is really annoying for me as well. I had hoped this game would be a Resident Evil game I could enjoy but it seems it will be a struggle once again. I personally believe that these games are popular due to their great story rather than the archaic gameplay. Why not bring back the horrible stationary view angles while they are at it? Fallout completely went modern with the newest release. Would we have been happier with a overhead camera or needing to click and select commands to investigate or pick up items as in the old RPG games? I think not. The evolution of games should never be slowed by "tradition", we have enough of that kind of nonsense in elsewhere in society...

In otherwords, you'd all like a game not only completely unrelated in terms of playstyle, but also abysmally watered down in terms of gameplay itself ala Fallout 3?

RE5 is actually very good how it portrays combat. You wouldn't be able to have nearly as much accuracy while running as you would while stationary. In addition, the "Run-n-Gun" gameplay popular 1st and 3rd person shooters use doesn't make them "realistic", as much as it does the opposite. Running whilst firing weapons decreases control, accuracy, and increases the force of recoil and sway.

Remember, we're talking about a Special Forces agent who's seen everything from Zombies all the way to giant writhing masses of tentacles, he's been well versed in staying cool under pressure, not to mention that if you play this game expecting a "run-n-gun" shooter you'll get beat down hard.

In my opinion, the gameplay is vastly superior to RE4, the story (so far) is very good (Though typos in the subtitles make it seem like it was a little rushed), and the combat, while not perfect, is very strategically oriented and about more than simply "shoot them in the head and forget".

And it gets much more fun after you unlock the infinite ammo upgrades. I'm specifically gunning for fully upgrading the L. Hawk and other magnums so I can get my Infinite Rocket Launcher Run started ASAP.

I do have a complaint with the single-hit kill attacks some enemies have, such as the Reaper's multi-stab-grab, and the Licker Beta's Pounce Attack. It was bad enough in RE4 with chainsaw guys and traps, but now we have Chainsaw Guys, Traps, Crocs, Licker Betas, and Reapers...
    Yo.

Well this is expected, people who never played RE games would complain about this. Though i never played myself, i don't find anything wrong with it. It does get annoying but you will get use to it somehow. I don't see how someone would hate a game just because of such a trivial matter..

Re series as a whole has had a tradition and in all the RE games they have kept them. I say If you don't like it go find another game and stop complaining and never buy a RE game EVER again CUZ the tradition will NEVER change! EVER!

RE is an AMAZING series of games that should have the respect it deserves!

If the game play was the same as every other third person shooter (like Gears for example) then most of the tension in the game will be gone, which would take a lot of the fun out of the game.

i agree..a true gamer learns to adapt. even though sometimes it does get very irritating getting used to a control style..eventualy..we do. give it time. remember Dead Space..
