imo, mouse aiming in this game is totally crap.

since you can't running and shooting, i'll say aiming via analog stick seem to be more appropriate.

your post is giving me mixed opinions. I have enough money for this festival to spend money in Batman AA, Red Faction guerilla (PC) and RE5. But now I am thinking of saving this money for some other game.

don't take me wrong, the game is great (in it's way).

my point in previous reply is RE5 works just fine with my Xbox360 control (for Windows, of coz),
less accurate but more flexible than keyboard+mouse.

Just to clarify, CAPCOM had absolutely NO CONTROL over the RE4 PC port, it was basically handed off to Ubisoft's team, which couldn't care less about a decent porting job.

RE5 however, was directly ported by Capcom themselves with no in-betweens, middle-men, etc. like with RE4.

Besides, this game is the superior version for me since I'm not about to spend $300 on a next-gen console when upgrading my current rig would cost just $275-$300 anyway. And even then, my current rig as it is now can run RE5 just fine methinks (Recommended video card is a Radeon X1900, I have an HD2600Pro).

I definitely recommend the PC version of RE5 anyway, since even though the PC "exclusive" content isn't permanently exclusive (It's coming to 360 as a DLC pack), I do think it's going to be a pay-to-download DLC through the XBL marketplace. Not to mention if your rig can handle it, it can look better and run smoother than either of the console versions.

    Just my two cents.
    Yo.

The question is: Will the game controls bother me? I do not use the gamepad on my PC, a keyboard and mouse is enough. If I had to use the gamepad, I would have bought the X360 version of the game long ago...

    no, it won't.

    old method works just fine.

actually, keyboard+mouse give you more precise shots, and for PC gamers keyboard+mouse are more familiar than any gamepad.

but if you wanna gain S rank in chapter completion time, i think using gamepad will give you more advantage.

I dunno, the main issue I had when I played the 360 version was the inaccuracy of the laser sight (i.e. if you don't see a dot, then you can't expect that your shot will be accurate even if the laser is pointed directly at an enemy). This issue is completely solved by the addition of a cross hair when aiming with the mouse. Though the one issue I have with the K+M controls (aside from the comfort of using a gamepad) is that the sensitivity when you're aiming your gun compared to sensitivity when you're not is a little out of whack (i.e. the mouse seems way more sensitive when your aiming your weapon then when you're not, which took a while to get used to). The only reason I'm playing with the K+M now instead of the 360 controller is because of the cross-hair and the quick inventory selection.

It takes a little getting used to. To be honest the off the shoulder cam, and the way you move is a bit clunky and not as responsive as I'd like it. No running and shooting is kind of crippling... and the camera angles can be a little obnoxious. They made it feel like a first-person shooter game, but gave you poor control over your character's movement.

Aiming is fine with a keyboard/mouse, but getting around and working with the camera, as well as a partner that likes to often hump your right shoulder takes a while to get used to.

Thats why the games a co-op type. Having another player back you up mostly covers up for the lack of character movement/cam view or w/e really. Well i haven't played it myself but from the looks of it on the benchmark demo...it kinda makes the game more intense which is good

So there we go, this game is just slightly improved that the last one when it comes to controls - And that's not god enough for me.

Looks like I will have to rent this game first.
