Really depends on your error log entry. If you get a long code string and failure to connect then you're Games for Windows Live needs to be reinstalled. I had a problem where it crashed and wouldn't completely kill the running processes which GFWL doesn't like apparently. It was also a hosed copy of GFWL that the game installs. Download a fresh copy from MS and install. Make sure you don't have any previous instances of the game still running (stuck) and relaunch. You should be good to go.

Update your NVIDIA drivers. Samething was hapeened to me and installing the latest drivers solved the problem. As I understand game installs physx latest drivers which are not fully compatible with old NVIDIA drivers. But I don't know about ATI users.

Well Im having the same problem here too!!!
IM running Windows Vista 64 bit, a GeForce Gtx 260 GFX card and 3 gigs of ram on a Intell i7 running 2.6x ....... I updated my drivers and uninstalled the Games for windows live thing.... and still get the crash at the black screen.... Says windows has encountered an eerror and needs to close... Can someone help me? lemme know if ya needs more info!

Just a heads-up:

If you are using an image file (for all of you who downloaded *cough cough* no-CD)
***it won't work.***
Mainly due to the change in file. The trainer will try to look for the original game but the game exe is modified so that it won't be compatible.

So if you are using a **NO-CD** version, it won't work.

Also if you're deciding to use an Aimbot as well, it won't work either.

i can run the game fine.. my only issue now is the trainer says game not found. The game was crashing before until I turned off spybot,and my anti-virus program. now it runs fine, just trying to get the trainer to work. running win7 64 bit.
