Yea, if you want 100% completion you need to finish all of the Riddler's Challenge.
Most of them are fairly simple things, like destroying 5/10/20 Joker Teeth, collecting all the Arkham Interview tapes, Riddler's Maps & Trophies, etc.
Some, like having to find the 2 separate halves of Riddler's question mark, lining them up so they look complete and then scanning them... THAT can be a bit of a pain in the ass, 'cause the marks are only visible in Detective Mode and if their off by just a little bit when you scan them, it won't take.
