Actually Information Systems is a collection of 3 major departments:
Application Development
Information Technology
Quality Assurance
I have never worked anywhere where QA was under the auspices of IS; nor has my dad--who as been a QA engineer since he retired from the Army.
MIS are the guys who tell IT/IS (the distinction is only academic in the real world) what to do, when to do it, how to do it and manage how it is integrated into the overall business plan.
I think for me it's because we have our own separate HR department under IS that's in charge of getting training support to all of us in our department.
Football was great. We lost but the team did amazingly considering the other team was undefeated last year and this year.
Also, party tonight!
A loser is still a loser.
